Differences between Conservatives and Liberals

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a person of color is conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs healthcare, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he'll show it to his friends and have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's offended.

God is Just

Pastor Walter Hoye, a bold warrior of the faith, was moved by the Spirit of God to stand against the senseless murder of the unborn children in Oakland, California. The world stood against his righteous stand, putting him to trial for breaking the notorious Bubble Law (a law requiring protesters to be 8 feet from women entering abortion facilities). Sadly false witnesses rose up against him and though clear evidence showed the accusers confronted him (and not the reverse), the corrupt judge, careless jurors, and false witnesses prevailed. Unbeknownst to them, it was just as Christ, being innocent and standing for righteousness, was put to death, having false witnesses condemning him. Christ died, but triumphed, being raised from the dead and the wicked who had sought Christ's life had sought their own lives, laying a net for their own feet. Pastor Hoye was sentenced to a 30-day stay in the Santa Rita Prison of Dublin, California and two days later, a divine act of providence was displayed.

Irving Feldkamp is the proud owner of the very facility Pastor Hoye picketed at. It is one of his seventeen facilities, making him the owner of the largest privately owned abortion clinic chain. Only two days after Pastor Hoye was sentenced, a small plane crash landed in a Montana cemetery. Who was on board? Irving Feldkamp's children and grandchildren. All the passengers were killed. They landed next to a memorial for the unborn. One might say it was ironic. I would say it is providential and is a clear sign of God's just judgment on the wicked. They sought the life of the righteous and were condemned. Many have risen up as a result to make bolder stands against abortion. After taking part in a prayer vigil outside the Santa Rita Prison I am fired up and ready to take the fight to wicked. Are you? Who's on the Lord's side? Stand for God or stand with the guilty with blood on your hands. Praise be to God!

Who is this Ron Paul guy anyway and why should I listen to him?

Consistent: He doesn't care what you or I think, he votes how he pleases in accordance to the law of the land (U.S. Constitution).

Knowledgeable: He actually knows a thing or two about the economy, unlike the jokers that are destroying the system. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04B3Wl2qouw

Character: Strong sense of morality, supporting amendments to ban abortion and ever diligent in supporting the rights of states against the rampaging federal government. He is a God-fearing man seeking the well-being of the country.

Obama unveils his amazing international relations skills

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,507965,00.html

Check out the above link for the full story. Basically, one of our biggest allies just got majorly dissed by our Commander in Chief. This man who is supposed to be the leader of our country shows his incompetence by - either deliberately or ignorantly, not sure which - botching a traditional courtesy gift exchange between the US and Great Britain. To quote briefly from the news article:

Brown gave President Obama a couple of things. One was a pen holder fashioned from the HMS Gannet. It is an anti-slavery ship. He then gave a framed commissioning paper from the HMS Resolute, which is the resolute desk in the Oval Office, the sister ship also of the Gannet. And then he also gave a first edition biography of Winston Churchill.

In exchange, President Obama gave Prime Minister Brown 25 classic American DVDs. [Brown] can't even play them because he didn't get the ones that, you know, you can play over in England, because DVDs are printed differently in different regions so he can't even watch them.

And if that weren't enough of a diss to our greatest ally, Great Britain, Obama also gave back a bust of Winston Churchill, which was given to us on 9/11 as a symbol of unity.

What is this idiot trying to do, get us nuked?!?! What was he thinking? WAS he thinking?

Also, why isn't this all over the American news? Even if you google it you won't find much from the main American media services. Could it be that perhaps they don't WANT us to know how incompetent and inexperienced our new President is?

On the brighter side...
Thomas Jefferson, one of the founding fathers of this great country, said:

"Commerce with all nations, Alliance with none, should be our motto."

So I guess if Obama screws our relationship with all of our allies it can't be ALL bad.

Watchmen

What can be said of this story. It is one of grim satisfaction, where the villain wins and the hero dies, where justice is deemed cynical and injustice is said to be the righteous alternative. It is a world turned upside down. It is the sinful world that despises truth and justice, deeming it cruel and unusual. It is the world we live in, a sad truth ringing true in this film.

Rorscach is described as being black-and-white, a man of no compromise. He had a real sense of justice unlike his colleagues and was eventually killed for his stance. From the beginning, I thought he was cool and by the end, I saw myself dying with him, being smitten for standing on God's side. He was a martyr. We need more Rorscaches.

I don't recommend this film, sadly, for the other 5 characters were wicked and desperately evil and you see some terrible things coming from them. If anything, I would say that cutting out a good ¼ of the movie would do it a service and rewriting the ending so justice prevailed. If that was the case, it would probably be the best movie of the year.

The first post

I'm going to make this one easy on myself. This is an essay I wrote back in high school for a scholarship contest. I'll stick it in here to make the site less boring until I think up something else brilliant to post.
______________________________________________________

The 15th Amendment to the United States Constitution states, “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state…,” yet, vast amounts of United States citizens do not take advantage of this right. People are becoming disillusioned with their political leaders because of corruption, the influence of party loyalties, as well as the effects of a generally biased media. America has come to distrust its rulers, and rightly so.

When an individual decides to be a “career politician” they often lose sight of their real responsibility, which is to be a public servant and do what is best for the country as a whole. Lying, making promises they can’t or do not intend to keep, cheating, and bribing during elections are all common practice in the modern political arena. Recent scandals in the federal government give the impression that it is impossible to be a completely honest politician.

Frequently, loyalty to a political party will overrule a voter’s conscience or personal preference. Many voters feel that it is futile to vote for third-party candidates because they are usually defeated. Those who don’t support the “front-runners” can feel discouraged and left with no good options. There are often good independent candidates running for office, who would have a chance at being elected if people would vote according to their convictions, and not their party. As Republican candidates become more liberal, the general conservative response is to vote for the “lesser of two evils” or to give up completely and not vote. The voice of the people could positively influence the country’s future if the vote was cast according to conscience, and not merely political alliance.

Generally speaking, Americans are undereducated about the candidates for office. The media tends to twist information to support or criticize a particular candidate. If a true criticism of a politician goes public, it is frequently dismissed as a rumor started by the opposing party to “smear” the candidate and ruin his reputation. It is the American citizen’s duty to vote wisely, by researching a candidate’s voting record, personal background and other available information.

The government “of the people” has turned into a government of the popular, of the privileged, and of the powerful. The imbalance and corruption of political power and its negative effects on the nation have led American voters to lose confidence in their ability to influence the government. Voting is not merely a right; it is the duty and privilege of all responsible citizens to choose the leaders who will safeguard American liberties and domestic security.
